Hon. Daniel Roberts is a judge for the Vicinage 12 Superior Court in Union County in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Phil Murphy in 2021.
After his appointment, Roberts was assigned to the Family Division in Union County.
Prior to joining the bench, he was a partner at the Law Offices of Charney & Roberts, LLC, where he had practiced since 1996. At the firm, Roberts handled matters involving workers’ compensation, personal injury, small business law, personal injury, general litigation, adoptions, municipal law, real estate, wills, estate planning, speeding and traffic tickets, and DUIs and DWIs. In addition to his work there, he presided as the chief municipal court judge for the City of Linden (2012 to 2015).
Before that, Roberts was an associate at Schnirman & Charney (1993 to 1996) and Francis & Berry (1992 to 1993).
He received a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 1987. Roberts went on to complete a J.D. at Widener University, Delaware Law School in 1991.
After graduating from law school, he began his legal career as a judicial law clerk with the New Jersey Courts (1991 to 1992).
He has held memberships with the Union County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - New Jersey.
