Hon. David Palmer is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jan Brewer on September 16, 2009.
During his judicial tenure, Palmer has held assignments in the Civil, Juvenile, and Family Courts.
Prior to his appointment, he sat for five years as a commissioner of the Maricopa County Superior Court (2004 to 2009). Before that, Palmer spent the bulk of his legal career as an attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (1991 to 2004).
He received a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 1983. Palmer went on to complete a J.D. at Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1986.
After graduating from law school, he began his legal career as a clerk to the Hon. D.L. Greer with the Arizona Court of Appeals (1986 to 1987) before entering into private practice. Palmer then practiced at two private law firms before joining the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in 1991.
A native of Gila Valley, he graduated from Thatcher High School.
