The Hon. David W. Aycock is a judge for the 25th Judicial District of North Carolina. He was elected to the bench on November 4, 2014, and re-elected in 2018 and 2022.
The 25th Judicial District encompasses Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties.
Prior to his election, Aycock was an assistant district attorney with the 25th Prosecutorial District Attorney’s Office, a position to which he was named in 2013.
Aycock earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Davidson College in 1998. He spent the next few years with the United States Army before completing a J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 2005.
After graduating from law school, Aycock entered into private practice, working as an associate at Stott, Hollowell, Palmer & Windham in Gastonia. He remained with the firm until 2010, at which time he joined Patrick Harper & Dixon.
