Hon. Deborah E. Curcillo is a judge for the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected to the bench in November 2009 and was retained in 2019.
During her judicial tenure, Curcillo has held assignments in the Criminal Court and over adoptions.
She received a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College. Curcillo went on to complete a J.D. at Widener University, Delaware Law School in 1987.
After graduating from law school, she began her legal career as a deputy district attorney with the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure there, she prosecuted sexual assault, domestic violence, and internet sex cases as well as cases for the Child Sexual Exploitation Task Force. Curcillo was named chief deputy district attorney in 1994 and remained in that capacity until her election to the Court of Common Pleas.
In addition to her work with the District Attorney’s Office, she was an instructor at the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission. Curcillo has also been a speaker for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, and the National District Attorney’s Association.
In 2013, she was appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to serve on the state’s Interbranch Commission for Gender, Racial and Ethnic Fairness.
Her husband, Joseph A. Curcillo, III, is a managing attorney at Curcillo Law and a past president of the Dauphin County Bar Association. At the time of her election, the couple resided in West Hanover Township with their two daughters.
Curcillo served on the West Hanover Township Board of Supervisors.
She was born and raised in Dauphin County and is a graduate of Central Dauphin High School.
