The Hon. Diane E. Moriarty (Ret.) was an associate justice of the Quincy District Court in Massachusetts. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Paul Cellucci in 1998. Moriarty retired in April 2021.
She joined the Quincy District Court in 2000 and subsequently established a Drug Court there the following year. In addition to presiding in the Quincy Drug Court, Moriarty also presided in the Dorchester Drug Court.
She completed a J.D. at Suffolk University School of Law.
Prior to joining the judiciary, Moriarty was a partner at Hurley & Moriarty (1991 to 1998) and Moriarty, Long & Shine (1981 to 1991).
In 1993, she made an unsuccessful bid for mayor of Boston.
Moriarty served as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Women’s Issues and a volunteer for the Women’s Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project and DOVE, a Quincy women’s shelter.
