The Hon. Dominic J. Paratore (Ret.) was an associate justice of the New Bedford District Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mitt Romney in 2006. Paratore retired in 2020.
During his tenure on the bench, he also presided as acting first justice of the Salem District Court and an associate justice of the Cambridge and Peabody District Courts.
He received a B.S. in history from Stonehill College in 1972. Paratore then completed a J.D. at Suffolk University Law School in 1977.
Prior to joining the bench, he worked as an assistant district attorney with the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office and later practiced as a partner at Paratore, Fitzgerald & Favorat, PC.
His memberships included the Middlesex County Bar Association (president), the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Cambridge-Arlington-Belmont Bar Association (president), and the Justinian Law Society (Executive Vice President).
Paratore also served as president of the Belmont Youth Basketball Association.
