The Hon. Douglas R. Vannoy (Ret.) served as a judge for the 13th Judicial District Court of Colorado. Vannoy was appointed to the bench by former Governor Roy Romer in 1988. He retired on July 1, 2016.
The 13th Judicial District encompasses Kit Carson County, Logan County, Morgan County, Phillips County, Sedgwick County, Washington County, and Yuma County.
Vannoy earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Colorado State University in 1973. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 1976.
After graduating from law school, Vannoy entered into private practice in Fort Morgan. He served in that capacity until his appointment to the bench.
His memberships have included the Colorado Commission for Judicial Discipline. He has also been involved with the Morgan Saddle Club and the Cross-Over Youth Project in Morgan County.
