Biography

The Hon. Douglas Robison is a judge for the 393rd District Court in Denton County, Texas. He was elected to the bench in 2008.


Prior to his election, Robison was a partner at Robison & Robison, a law firm he established in 1996. During his tenure there, he handled complex civil litigation, securities fraud, deceptive trade practices, lender liability, shareholder oppression, wrongful partnership dissolution, and real estate contract matters.


Robison earned a B.A. in history from Bucknell University in 1976. Then, in 1979, he completed a J.D. at Villanova University, Charles Widger School of Law. He is Board Certified in Child Welfare Law, Family Law, Civil Trial Law, as well as Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.


After graduating from law school, Robison began his legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. Barron McCune of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in 1980. The following year, he entered into private practice, working as an attorney (and eventually shareholder) at Geary, Stahl & Spencer (1981 to 1989), Page & Addison (1989 to 1992), and McCauley, Macdonald, Love & Devin (1992 to 1996) in Dallas County.


He is registered as a Republican.
