The Hon. Eugene J. Langone, Jr. is a judge for the Jefferson County Family Court in the Fifth Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the Family Court bench in 2015. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Richard V. Hunt (Ret.).
He is a registered Republican.
Judge Langone received his B.S. from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 1983. He went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1987.
Langone worked as an assistant county attorney with the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office from 1989 to 1995.
Upon his departure from the County Attorney’s Office, he entered into private practice, where he practiced as a named partner at the law firm of Hrabchak, Gebo, and Langone, P.C. in Watertown, New York. He continued to practice for the firm, where he specialized in family law matters, until his election to the bench.
His memberships have included serving as chairman of the Tri-Rivers District Boy Scouts of America, a board member and past president of Family Counseling Services, and an advisory board member of the Youth Court of Jefferson County. Judge Langone has also been a member of the Italian-American Civic Association and the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition.
