Hon. G. Brent Russell is an associate district judge for the Stephens County District Court (District 5) in Oklahoma. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Brady Henry on February 1, 2006.
At the time of his appointment, Russell was in private practice alongside Devin Giddens since 1998. He was also a former partner at Ellis, Leonard, Buckholts & Russell (1985 to 1991).
His time in private practice was punctuated with a seven-year tenure as an assistant district attorney in Stephens County (1991 to 1998).
Russell received a B.S. in political science and public affairs from Oklahoma State University in 1981. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1985. While a law student, Russell was a member of Phi Delta Phi and received the Outstanding Trial Advocate Award from the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.
At the time of his appointment, he resided in Duncan, Oklahoma, with his wife Jeanna. They have two grown sons. Russell is a graduate of Duncan High School (1977).
