Hon. George G. Angeliadis (Ret.) was a judge for the 5th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. Angeliadis was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2018, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Curtis J. Neal (Ret.). He retired in January 2021.
The 5th Judicial Circuit encompasses Citrus County, Hernando County, Lake County, Marion County, and Sumter County. Angeliadis held assignments in Hernando County, presiding over cases in the Civil Division. He also sat on the Veterans Treatment Court, the Mental Health Court, and the Drug Court.
Prior to his appointment, Angeliadis was a partner at the Hogan Law Firm, where he had practiced since 2008. At the firm, his client base included the Hernando County Clerk of the Court, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, the Fraternal Order of the Police, the Florida Association of State Troopers, the City of Crystal River, the Sumter County Board of County Commissioners, and the Sumter County Tax Collector.
Angeliadis received a B.A. in finance from the University of South Florida in 1991. He went on to complete a J.D. at South Texas College of Law Houston in 1996.
After graduating from law school, Angeliadis spent four years as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney for the 5th Judicial Circuit.
He is a past president of the Citrus-Hernando Inn of Court and the Hernando County Bar Association. Angeliadis was also a member of the Brooksville Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill, the Coastal Conservation Association, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Youth Education Services Foundation, and the First Hernando Youth Soccer Club, where he was a commissioner and coach.
Angeliadis was born in Youngstown, Ohio, where his father worked as a steelworker, and his mother was a school teacher. After completing high school, Angeliadis moved with his family to Tarpon Springs, Florida. He and his wife, Stacey, have two children.
Following his retirement, Angeliadis joined the law firm of Lucas, Macyszyn & Dyer, where he handles personal injury, auto and motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, civil litigation, and criminal defense matters.
