Hon. George J. Lazieh is an associate judge for the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Dan McKee in 2022.
Before joining the judiciary, Lazieh was a bail commissioner for the State of Rhode Island, a position he held since 2012. He also spent time as a special assistant attorney general.
In addition, he worked for twenty-one years as an attorney in the Law Office of Steven B. Stein, where he handled criminal, civil, and workers’ compensation matters.
Lazieh received a bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University. He went on to complete a J.D. at Suffolk University Law School.
He has taught criminal and constitutional law-related courses as an instructor at the Community College of Rhode Island.
Lazieh resided in Cumberland at the time of his appointment.
