The Hon. Gordon B. Jenkinson (Ret.) served as a judge for the 3rd Judicial Circuit Family Court of South Carolina. Jenkinson was elected to the bench by the South Carolina General Assembly in 2007. He retired in 2017.
The 3rd Judicial Circuit encompasses Lee, Sumter, Clarendon, and Williamsburg Counties.
Jenkinson earned a bachelor’s degree in English from The Citadel in 1971. He spent the next few years with the United States Army Reserve before completing a J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1974.
He is licensed to practice in South Carolina (1974), the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina (1975), the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit (1983), and the United States Supreme Court.
After graduating from law school, Jenkinson entered into private practice. He worked in that capacity until 1981, at which time he became the Public Defender for Williamsburg County. Then, in 1992, he returned to private practice, this time as an attorney at the Jenkinson Law Firm.
