The Hon. H. Shaina Colover is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. She was appointed by former Governor Jerry Brown on November 29, 2018, filling a vacancy created by the conversion of a court commissioner position.
Colover earned a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego in 1995. She then received a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1998.
She began her legal career in 1999, working as an associate at Freitas, McCarthy, MacMahon, and Keating until 2001. She then joined the Law Offices of Ronald B. Schwartz, where she worked as an associate until her promotion to counsel in 2012. She remained in this position until her appointment to the bench, specializing in personal injury law.
She served as President of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association in 2017. She was also a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California Diversity Committee, chairperson of the Orange County Bar Association and the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association Education Committee.
She was a resident of Newport Beach, California at the time of her appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County.
She is registered as a Democrat.
