The Hon. Haywood C. Barry (Ret.) served as a judge for the Wilson County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. Barry was elected to the bench on August 7, 2014. He retired on December 31, 2021.
Prior to his election, Barry represented War 5 as a member of the Lebanon City Council, a position to which he was named in 2004. Before that, he spent twenty-four years as a judge for Division I of the Wilson County General Sessions Court (1974 to 1998).
Barry earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Tennessee Technological University in 1959. He spent the next several years working as a customer service and personnel supervisor for TRW before completing a J.D. at Nashville School of Law in 1972.
His memberships have included the Tennessee General Sessions Judges Conference. He has also been honored with a Life Membership to the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.
Raised in Lebanon, Tennessee, Barry attended Lebanon High School. He and his wife have five grandchildren.
