The Hon. Heather M.S. Bradley is First Justice of the Hingham District Court in Massachusetts. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Deval Patrick on December 14, 2010, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Thomas F. Brownell.
Over the course of her judicial career, Bradley has held assignments in the Plymouth District Court and the Hingham District Court. She was named First Justice of the Hingham District Court on November 25, 2015.
Bradley earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1992. She then completed a J.D. at Boston College Law School in 1995.
After graduating from law school, Bradley began her legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office. She spent the next three years serving as a juvenile prosecutor in the Waltham and Concord District Courts. She also sat as the lead domestic violence prosecutor in the Lowell District Court. Then, in 1998, she transferred to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure there, she rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Chief of the Forfeiture Unit.
Bradley was born in Worcester and raised in Marion, where her father worked as a salesman for a company that sold sports headwear. She was a resident of Hingham at the time of her appointment. Bradley is married to Massachusetts State Representative Garrett Bradley (D-Hingham).
