The Hon. Ilisa H. Rooke-Ley (Ret.) served as a judge for the 2nd Judicial District Circuit Court of Oregon. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Ted Kulongoski on May 1, 2010.
The 2nd Judicial District encompasses Lane County.
Prior to her appointment, Rooke-Ley worked as a criminal defense attorney, spending fourteen years with the Public Defender Services of Lane County. Before that, she was an attorney in the Law Offices of Terri Wood.
Rooke-Ley earned a bachelor’s degree from William Smith College in 1982. She then completed a J.D. at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law in 1989. She is admitted to practice in Florida (1989) and Oregon (1995).
After graduating from law school, Rooke-Ley began her legal career as an attorney with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office.
Her memberships have included the boards of Relief Nursery & Sponsors, Lane County Legal Aid, the Eugene Human Rights Commission, and the Lane County Public Safety Coordinating Council.
