The Hon. Jane A. Tidball (Ret.) served as a judge for the 1st Judicial District Court of Colorado. Tidball was appointed to the bench by former Governor Roy Romer in 1998. She retired on July 31, 2013.
The 1st Judicial District encompasses Gilpin County and Jefferson County.
Prior to her appointment, Tidball was a magistrate for the 20th Judicial District Court. Before that, she spent time as a staff attorney for the Resolution Trust Corporation and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Tidball earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1980. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Colorado Law School in 1984. She has been admitted to practice in Colorado (1984), the United States District Court for the District of Colorado (1984), the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (1984), and Arizona (1993).
After graduating from law school, Tidball entered into private practice in Denver. She specialized in contracts, securities, and real estate matters as well as personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability cases.
Her memberships have included the Colorado Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee.
