The Hon. Janemarie A. Vander Dussen is a judge for the Curry County Magistrate Court in New Mexico. She was elected to the bench in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.
Prior to her election, Vander Dussen worked for the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. She started as a victim advocate in 2008, rising through the ranks to become the Director of Victim Services in 2017. Before that, she spent one year as a showroom assistant at Philippe Adec in New York City.
Vander Dussen earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and business from Sacred Heart University in 2002. She later completed a master’s degree in social work at New Mexico Highlands University in 2017.
Born in Newport News, Virginia, Vander Dussen was raised in Red Bank, New Jersey, where she attended Red Bank Catholic High School.
She is registered as a Republican.
