The Hon. Jarod K. Hofacket is a judge for the 6th Judicial District Court of New Mexico. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2016.
The 6th Judicial District includes Grant County, Luna County, and Hidalgo County.
Prior to his election, Hofacket operated the Hofacket Law Firm, a general practice he established in 2006. During his tenure there, he specialized in civil transactions and litigation.
Hofacket earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from New Mexico State University in 1999. He then completed a J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law in 2003. He is admitted to practice in Texas (2003) and New Mexico (2006).
After graduating from law school, Hofacket entered into private practice, working as an attorney in Dallas and Ft. Worth. He started with Winstead in 2003. Then, in 2006, he transferred to Jones Day.
His memberships have included the Deming Rotary Club, the Board of the Deming Chamber of Commerce, and the Board of SW Area Workforce Development
He is registered as a Republican.
