The Hon. Jean Woodford (Ret.) served as a judge for the Jefferson County Court in Colorado. Woodford was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Hickenlooper in 2012. She retired on April 4, 2020.
Over the course of her judicial career, Woodford primarily presided over traffic and misdemeanor cases. She also sat as the Presiding Judge for the Jefferson County Court.
Prior to her appointment, Woodford was the first assistant attorney general for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. In that capacity, she held assignments in the Financial Fraud Unit. Before that, she spent time as the acting district attorney as well as an assistant district attorney for the 7th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Woodford earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Colorado Law School. She was admitted to the State Bar of Colorado in 1994.
