Hon. Jeffrey D. Hamby is a judge for the Cobb County Juvenile Court in Georgia. He was appointed to the bench by the Cobb County Superior Court judges in October 2012.
Prior to his appointment, Hamby was a partner in the law firm of Huff, Woods, & Hamby (now Huff & Woods), where he had practiced since merging his firm, Jeffrey D. Hamby, P.C., in 1997. His areas of practice included family law and domestic relations. During his tenure in private practice, Hamby represented individuals in divorce and custody actions, served as a mediator and arbitrator in domestic and civil matters, and acted as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem.
He received a B.A. in political science from Georgia State University. Hamby went on to complete a J.D. at Georgia State University College of Law.
He was born in San Diego, California, and his family later settled in Cobb County. Hamby is a graduate of John McEachern High School.
He resides in East Cobb County with his wife, Carrie Hackett, a family law attorney, and his stepson.
