The Hon. Jeffrey K. Clifford is an associate justice for the Quincy District Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Charlie Baker on January 9, 2019.
Clifford earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 1995. He then completed a J.D. at Catholic University School of Law in 1998.
After graduating from law school, Clifford began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. He then transferred to the Massachusetts Department of Social Services the following year, preparing and litigating care and protection cases before the Boston Juvenile Court as an assistant regional counsel.
In 2000, Clifford returned to his duties as an assistant district attorney, this time with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure there, he was a member of the Homicide Response Team and served as the Gang Unit Liaison to the Youth Violence Strike Force.
Clifford left the District Attorney’s Office in 2004. At that time, he became Assistant General Counsel and Manager of Client Enforcement at the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents. Then, in 2007, he entered into private practice as a sole practitioner.
His memberships have included the Norfolk County Bar Advocates (president) and the Federal Criminal Justice Act Panel. He is also a recipient of the Alfred P. Mulaney Person of the Year Award from the Quincy Bar Association (2016).
Clifford was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve (1990 to 1996, 2005 to 2006), participating in the Persian Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
