The Hon. Jennifer J. O'Keefe is a judge for the Monterey County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom on March 25, 2021, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Efren N. Iglesia.
Prior to her appointment, O’Keefe worked for the Monterey County Public Defender’s Office. She started as a deputy public defender in 2010, rising through the ranks to become its Chief Deputy Public Defender in 2017.
O’Keefe earned a J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005.
After graduating from law school, O’Keefe began her legal career as a deputy public defender for the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office. She served in that capacity until 2010.
O’Keefe was a resident of Salinas, California, at the time of her appointment.
She is registered as a Democrat.
