The Hon. John C. McClintock, Jr. (Ret.) served as a judge for the North Dakota Northeast Judicial District. McClintock was elected to the bench in 1994 and re-elected in 2000, 2006, and 2012. He retired on April 14, 2017.
The Northeast Judicial District includes Benson County, Bottineau County, Cavalier County, McHenry County, Pembina County, Pierce County, Ramsey County, Renville County, Rolette County, Towner County, and Walsh County.
McClintock earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota in 1983. He then completed a J.D. at the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1986.
After graduating from law school, McClintock began working for Price Waterhouse in Minneapolis. Then, in 1991, he returned to North Dakota and entered into private practice. He worked in that capacity until 1993, at which time he became an assistant state’s attorney for the Pierce County State’s Attorney’s Office.
His memberships have included the North Dakota Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
McClintock was born in Rugby, North Dakota.
