Hon. John D. Beger is a circuit judge for the 25th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. He was elected to the bench in 2014.
The 25th Judicial Circuit Court includes Maries, Phelps, Pulaski, and Texas Counties.
During his judicial tenure, Beger has served as Presiding Judge of the court since 2021.
Prior to joining the bench, he served two stints as the Prosecuting Attorney for Phelps County (1991 to 1994 and 2011 to 2014).
His time as a prosecutor was punctuated with private practice work (1979 to 2010). Beger was an attorney at Price & Beger and Salem, Beger & Bushie in Rolla. He is certified as both a civil and criminal trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, holding the distinction of being the first lawyer in Missouri to be certified in both. Beger also spent time as a Rolla city councilor (1995 to 2010).
He received a B.S.B.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1976. Beger went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Missouri School of Law in 1978.
He was admitted to practice in Missouri (1979), the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri (1979), and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri (1981).
Beger served on the Board of Trustees of the Phelps County Regional Medical Center. He has also been involved with Rolla Lodge #213 A.F.&A.M., the South Central Shrine Club, and the National Rifle Association.
He was born in St. Charles, Missouri. Beger and his wife, Cynthia, a broker-sales agent at Investment Realty in Rolla, have two daughters. He belongs to Ozark Highlands Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.
Beger is registered as a Republican.
