The Hon. John G. Mulroe is a circuit judge of the Juvenile Justice Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. He was appointed to the bench in 2019.
Before pursuing a legal career, Mulroe in 1982 earned his B.B.A. in accounting from Loyola University Chicago. He then went on to earn his J.D. from his alma mater in 1988.
After earning a law degree, Mulroe worked as an assistant state attorney for Cook County. He then went on to work as an attorney in private practice specializing in criminal, civil, probate, adoption, and real estate law for 10 years. In 2010, he was elected to represent the 10th Illinois State Senator District as a Democratic state senator. Mulroe served in that position until 2019 when he was appointed to the bench seat.
In addition to his services to the court, Mulroe is a member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Mulroe is a registered Democrat.
