Hon. Jonah M. Saving is a judge for the Hocking County Court of Common Pleas (Probate and Juvenile Division) in Ohio. He was elected to the bench on November 4, 2014 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Richard Waller (Ret.).
At the time of his election, he had worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney with the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office for five years and was the Logan City law director for two years. During his tenure with the Prosecutor’s Office, Saving worked in the municipal, juvenile, and common pleas court.
He received a B.S. in business administration from the Ohio State University in 2004. Saving went on to complete a J.D. at Capital University Law School in 2008.
His memberships have included the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Juvenile Court Judges, the Ohio Association of Probate Court Judges, and the Hocking County Bar Association.
His civic involvement included serving as president of the board of Hocking Valley Community Residential Care, a rehabilitation facility for troubled youth.
Saving received the Young Alumnus of the Year Award from Capital University Law School in 2017.
He was born and raised in Hocking County and is a graduate of Logan High School. His wife, Abby, is also an attorney.
