Hon. Joseph M. Chiarello is a judge for the Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem County Superior Court (Vicinage 15) in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Chris Christie in 2017.
Chiarello has held assignments in the Cumberland County Criminal Division (2017 to 2021) and the Gloucester County Family Division (2021 to present). He has also presided over the Drug Court in Cumberland County.
Prior to his appointment, Chiarello was a partner in the Millville law firm of Jacob & Chiarello, LLC.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Trenton State College. Chiarello went on to complete a J.D. at Widener University, Delaware Law School. He was admitted to practice in New Jersey (1995) and Pennsylvania (1996).
Chiarello has held a membership with the American Trial Lawyers Association.
