The Hon. Judith D. Campbell is a judge for the Volusia County Court in Florida. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2012.
Prior to her appointment, Campbell spent ten years as an assistant public defender with the Office of the Public Defender for the 7th Judicial Circuit. During her tenure there, she held assignments as Chief of the Flagler County Division.
Campbell earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish education from the University of Florida. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1987.
Her memberships have included the Leadership Board of Take Stock in Children, the Board of Directors for Avenues 12. She has also been involved with the Daytona Beach West Rotary Club, Tiger Bay, and the Volusia County Bar Association.
She is a recipient of the Woman of the Year in Public Service and Government Award from the Daytona State College’s Center for Women and Men (2016), the Vocational Service Award from the Rotary District 6970 (2015), and the President’s Pro Bono Award for the 7th Judicial Circuit from the Florida Bar.
A resident of Port Orange, Florida, Campbell is a married mother of two children. She and her husband have two rescue dogs, a bull mastiff-lab and a golden (non)retriever. When not presiding over legal proceedings, she enjoys fitness, knitting, and traveling. She has completed several mission trips to Central America, where she has served as a translator.
