The Hon. Kelly A. Ramsey is a judge for the Third Circuit Court in Michigan. She was elected to the bench in 2016.
Prior to her election, Ramsey spent twenty-three years as a court referee for the Family Division of the Third Circuit Court of Michigan. She also spent time as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office as well as a special assistant attorney general for the Sexual Assault Kit Task Force of the Michigan Department of the Attorney General.
Ramsey earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Dearborn in 1979. She then completed a J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 1986.
Her memberships have included Governor’s Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect and For the Seventh Generation (co-founder).
Raised in Wayne County, Ramsey is the daughter of a former police officer for the Detroit Police Department. She was a resident of Livonia, Michigan, at the time of her election.
