The Hon. Kenneth L. Alger, II, is a judge for the 26th Judicial District Court of Virginia. He was elected to the bench by the Virginia General Assembly on June 1, 2022, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. W. Dale Houff.
The 26th Judicial District encompasses the Cities of Winchester and Harrisonburg as well as the Counties of Clarke, Frederick, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren.
Prior to his election, Alger was the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Page County, a position to which he was named in 2012. Before that, he spent time as an assistant commonwealth’s attorney for the Shenandoah County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office (2005 to 2011).
Alger earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in 2000. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law in 2003.
His memberships have included the Rileyville Ruritan Club, the Luray Rotary Club, United Way, and the local Masonic lodge.
He was a resident of Page, Virginia, at the time of his election.
