The Hon. Kenneth N. Bailey, Jr., is a judge for the Greene County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. He was appointed to the bench in 2006, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Thomas J. Wright to the 3rd Judicial District Circuit Court.
Over the course of his judicial career, Bailey sits by jurisdiction on the Greene County Juvenile Court. He has also presided over the Greene County Recovery Court, a special program designed to address the needs of nonviolent offenders with substance use disorders.
Bailey earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from East Tennessee State University in 1992. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1995.
After graduating from law school, Bailey entered into private practice at Rogers, Laughlin, Nunnally Hood & Crum. He remained with the firm until his election to the bench, supplementing his practice with service as a part-time referee for the Greene County Juvenile Court (2002 to 2009).
His memberships have included the Greene County Anti-Drug Coalition. He also played an instrumental role in the establishment of a Isaiah 117 House in the county.
He is registered as a Republican.
