The Hon. Keven M. P. O’Grady is a judge for the 10th Judicial District Court of Kansas in Johnson County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Sam Brownback on August 22, 2012.
Prior to his appointment, O’Grady was in private practice since 1987.
He received a B.A. in political science and French from Rockhurst College in 1984. O’Grady then completed a J.D. at the University of Kansas School of Law in 1987.
He is the founding president of the Johnson County Family Law American Inn of Court and has chaired the Kansas Supreme Court Advisory Council on Dispute Resolution. His other memberships include the Kansas Bar Association, the Johnson County Bar Association, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the American Bar Association.
O’Grady was named Attorney of the Year by the CASA of Johnson and Wyandotte County in 2005. He is also the recipient of the Kansas Bar Association Pro Bono Certificate (2010 and 2015), the President’s Award from the Johnson County Bar Association (2019), and the Mary C. McQueen Award (2022) for his efforts to improve the judicial system, including helping to start a self-help center and a night court in Johnson County.
He was born in Red Oak, Iowa. He resides in Prairie Village, Kansas.
