Hon. Kevin H. Siefken is a judge for the 3rd Judicial District Court of Minnesota in Mower County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mark Dayton on June 6, 2014.
The 3rd Judicial District includes Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, and Winona Counties.
Prior to beginning his judicial career, Siefken was president and shareholder at Christian & Peterson, P.A. and was a special assistant city attorney for the City of Albert Lea and an assistant public defender for the 3rd Judicial District. In private practice, his caseload included family law, criminal, civil litigation, child protection, and civil commitments.
He received a B.A. in public relations from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991. Siefken went on to complete a J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law in 1995.
He was a past president of Habitat for Humanity Freeborn/Mower and an advisory board member for the Albert Lea Salvation Army. Siefken was also involved with the United Way of Freeborn County and Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services.
