Hon. Kristin Culbertson is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Doug Ducey in 2016, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Joseph Sciarrotta, Jr. (Ret.).
Culbertson has held assignments in the Family and Juvenile Courts.
Prior to joining the bench, she was a shareholder at Littler Mendelson, P.C. (2004 to 2016). At the firm, Culbertson handled a variety of labor and employment matters dealing with federal and state law, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, unfair competition, trade secrets, employee privacy, and public pensions.
Culbertson received a B.A. in communication from Arizona State University in 1998. She went on to complete a J.D. at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 2000.
Culbertson also spent time as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Paul Rosenblatt with the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
Her civic involvement has included Littler Mendelson’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. Culbertson also provided pro bono legal assistance to a non-profit organization that provides indigent pregnant women with resources and education.
