The Hon. Lansing L. Haynes (Ret.) was a judge for the 1st Judicial District Court of Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor James Risch in 2006. Haynes retired on May 1, 2022.
The 1st Judicial District includes Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone Counties. Haynes held an assignment in Kootenai County.
Prior to his appointment, he was the chief deputy prosecuting attorney with the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office. Before beginning his eighteen-year tenure there, Haynes was a prosecutor in Canyon County and a public defender in Ada County.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Idaho. Haynes then completed a J.D. at Willamette Univesity College of Law. He was admitted to practice in Idaho in 1982.
Haynes attended Twin Falls High School.
