Hon. Lawrence E. Ball is a judge for the Kingston City Court in Ulster County in the Third Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to the bench by former Kingston City Mayor James Sottile in 2009 to fill the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. James Gilpatric to the Ulster County Supreme Court.
At the time of his appointment, Ball was presiding as a part-time judge of the Kingston City Court, a position to which he was appointed by Mayor Sottile in 2007. He was also an attorney at the law firm of Riseley and Ball.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Ball then completed a J.D. at Albany Law School.
A native of Kingston, Ball graduated from Kingston High School.
He is registered as a Democrat.
