Hon. Linda Thomas is a district judge for the Eleventh Judicial District in Oklahoma. She was elected to the bench in 2018.
The Eleventh Judicial District includes the District Courts in Nowata and Washington Counties.
Prior to joining the bench, Thomas handled legal matters involving children and families as a private practice attorney in Bartlesville since 1994.
Before beginning her legal career, she taught as a former elementary and special needs teacher while attending law school at night. Thomas went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1994.
She was admitted to practice in Oklahoma (1994) and Texas (2014).
Her memberships have included the Oklahoma Bar Association Board of Governors (past president), the Washington County Bar Association (past president), Legal Aid of Northeastern Oklahoma, and Oklahoma Lawyers for American Heroes. In addition, Thomas served on the Professional Responsibility Commission and was an elected delegate to the Oklahoma Bar Association annual meeting.
An active member of the Bartlesville community, she was involved with the Bartlesville Area United Way, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Green Country, Bartlesville Family Care Services, and the “Run the Streets” program.
She also spent time as a youth mentor, provided legal assistance to domestic violence victims, was a volunteer attorney for the Washington County District Court, a court-approved guardian ad litem, and a trained mediator and parenting coordinator in domestic cases.
Thomas and her husband, Curt, have three grown children. She is a member of Bartlesville First Church, where she is on the children’s ministry team.
