Hon. Marcus Henson is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Colorado. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on March 19, 2019, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Barbara Hughes (Ret.).
The 4th Judicial District includes El Paso and Teller Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Henson presided as an El Paso County magistrate since 2017. Before that, he worked as a deputy state public defender in Colorado Springs (2002 to 2017).
Henson received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Georgia. He went on to complete a J.D. at Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in 2002.
Henson sat as a member of the Court Care Board of Directors (Pikes Peak Region). He has also been involved with Care and Share, Share the Love Food Drive, and the YMCA.
