The Hon. Martin R. Banks is a master-in-equity for the Calhoun County Equity Court in South Carolina.
Banks also manages his own private practice and serves as a public defender in St. Matthews.
Banks received a B.S. in business administration (accounting) from the University of South Carolina (1983) and an M.A. in Christian education from Columbia International University (1989). He then completed a J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1992.
He is a longtime member of the South Carolina Bar Fee Disputes Board and the Calhoun County Bar Association.
Banks was born in Columbia, South Carolina. One of six siblings, his father, David H. Banks, Jr., was the former mayor of St. Matthews, and his mother, Marthanna, retired from the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Medical Center. He and his wife, Kathy, have one daughter. In his free time, Banks enjoys coin collecting, travel, and sports.
