The Hon. Matthew J. Roker is a judge for the 3rd Judicial District Court of Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Brad Little on June 28, 2021.
The 3rd Judicial District encompasses Adams, Canyon, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, and Washington Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Roker was a partner at Lovan Roker & Rounds, a law firm he joined in 2003. During his tenure there, he specialized in criminal defense matters, supplementing his practice with personal injury, traffic, water law, probate, and estate planning matters.
Roker earned a bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University in 1989. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Idaho College of Law in 1993.
His memberships have included the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
He is a recipient of the Professionalism Award for the Third Judicial District from the Idaho State Bar (2018).
Born in Rexburg, Idaho, Roker graduated from Rigby High School.
