The Hon. Michael C. Bolden is an associate justice of the Central Division of the Boston Municipal Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mitt Romney in 2005.
Prior to his appointment, Bolden served as a Commissioner for the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services (2002 to 2005). Before that, he spent three years with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, sitting as the Head of Terrorism and Domestic Preparedness (1999 to 2001) before becoming Undersecretary of Public Safety (2001 to 2002).
Bolden earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Bates College in 1975. He then completed a J.D. at Suffolk University Law School in 1978.
He has taught as an instructor at Suffolk University Law School and the Massachusetts School of Law.
Bolden was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
