Hon. Michael S. Wright is an associate circuit judge for the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jay Nixon in 2014.
The 12th Judicial Circuit includes Audrain, Montgomery, and Warren Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Wright was the Prosecuting Attorney for Warren County, having been elected to the post in 1991. Before that, he worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Clay County (1985 to 1986) and was in private practice for eleven years (1991 to 2002).
Wright received a B.S. in business administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1982. He went on to complete a J.D. at Washburn University School of Law in 1985.
He is a past president of the Missouri Prosecutors Association and the National District Attorneys Association.
In 2013, he was named Prosecutor of the Year by the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys.
Wright is registered as a Republican.
