The Hon. Michele M. Armour is First Justice of the Attleboro District Court in Massachusetts. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Charlie Baker in 2016.
Over the course of her judicial career, Armour has held assignments in the Hingham District Court.
Armour earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from Union College in 1989. She then completed a J.D. at Albany Law School of Union University in 1992.
After graduating from law school, Armour joined the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney in Central Islip, New York. She served in that capacity until 1995, at which time she relocated to Massachusetts and became a staff attorney for the Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts.
In 1996, Armour transferred to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office in Canton, Massachusetts. She started as an assistant district attorney, rising through the ranks to become Deputy Chief of the Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Unit (1998), Chief of the Family Violence & Special Victims Unit (2009), and Chief Trial Counsel (2014).
Her memberships have included the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers and the Norfolk Bar Association. She also sat on the Board of Norfolk Advocates for Children and chaired the Child Fatality Review Team and the High Risk Assessment Team.
Armour was born in West Islip, New York.
