The Hon. Mitchell W. Brown is a judge for the 6th Judicial District Court of Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Butch Otter in 2008, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Don Harding.
The 6th Judicial District includes Bannock, Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power Counties. Brown has held assignments in all six counties.
Prior to his appointment, he was a partner at Racine Olson Nye Budge & Bailey, Chtd. He joined the firm in 1990 and was named a partner in 1998.
Brown received a B.S. from Utah State University. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Idaho College of Law in 1990. Brown was admitted to practice in Idaho (1990) and the United States District Court for the District of Idaho (1990).
He was born and raised in Star Valley, Wyoming. Brown and his wife, Tricia, have four children.
