The Hon. Netti C. Vogel is an associate justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bruce Sundlun in 1994.
Vogel currently presides over the Trial Calendar and the Med/Mal Pre-Trial Calendar in Courtroom No. 7 in Providence County.
Prior to her appointment, Vogel was a partner at Vogel & Souls.
Vogel earned a bachelor’s degree from Roosevelt University in 1971. She then completed a J.D. at New England Law in 1975. She is admitted to practice in Rhode Island (1975), the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island (1975), and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (1978).
Her memberships have included the Commission on Judicial Tenure and Discipline.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Vogel relocated to New England when her husband, a member of the United States Air Force, was stationed at the Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod. She holds the distinction of being the first woman in the history of Rhode Island to try a jury trial in a maternity dress. When not presiding over legal matters, Vogel enjoys swimming.
