The Hon. P. Sanders Huckabee is a judge for the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court in Arkansas. He was elected to the bench on January 1, 2009, and re-elected in 2014 and 2020.
Prior to his election, Huckabee was an attorney in private practice, specializing in insurance defense matters for almost twenty years. He supplemented his practice with service as a prosecutor for the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps in Germany (1988 to 1992).
Huckabee earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Arkansas in 1985. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1988. He is admitted to practice in Arkansas (1988) and the United States Court of Military Appeals (1988).
His memberships have included the Lonoke County Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission.
Raised in Mountain Home, Arkansas, Huckabee is the son-in-law of the Hon. Lance Hanshaw, a retired judge for the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court. He attends Cabot United Methodist Church, where he has built a musical ministry. When not presiding over legal proceedings, he enjoys swimming, writing music, and spending time with his wife, Holly, their three children, and their dogs, Lady and Locket.
