The 3rd Judicial District encompasses Hawkins, Hamblen, Hancock, and Greene Counties.
Prior to her appointment, Collins was an attorney in private practice, working as both a sole practitioner in her own private practice (2008 to 2016) as well as an attorney at The Terry Law Firm (2012 to 2016). She concentrated on family law matters, handling divorces, custody, and parenting plan disputes. Collins has also been listed as a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Family Mediator.
Collins earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1991. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, in 1994.
After graduating from law school, Collins entered into private practice. She worked in that capacity until 1998, at which time she was hired as an assistant district attorney general for the 3rd Judicial District Attorney General’s Office. Then, in 2004, she began working as a sales representative at Merck.
