Hon. Palmer L. Boyette is a judge for the Elbert County Court in Colorado. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bill Ritter in 2007, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Kevin Sidel (Ret.).
Prior to his appointment, Boyette presided as magistrate for the Denver Juvenile Court in 2001 before being transferred to the Denver District Court, where he served as a part-time Magistrate.
He received a B.A. in history from Florida State University in 1986. Boyette went on to complete a J.D. at Florida State University College of Law in 1989.
He was admitted to practice in Florida (1989), Colorado (1999), and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (1994).
After graduating from law school, Boyette began his legal career as an assistant public defender in Naples, Florida (1989 to 1993). He then joined a Florida law firm before becoming lead senior attorney with the Florida Department of Children and Families. He eventually relocated to Colorado in 2000 to begin work as an assistant city attorney in Denver.
